The last Ohio State basketball star to win the national Player of the Year award was Jimmy Jackson (from UPI in 1992). Evan Turner is a strong candidate to win the honor this season.

Lewis was charged with killing his twin brother, Dennis, and spent 18 months in jail awaiting trial. Eventually, the charges were dropped when key evidence was refuted.
